Going Green – It’s the Right Thing to Do
Everyone continues to get the message that America is going green. First question, what does that mean? Second question, what effect does that have on our lives? These two questions are on the minds of many people.
What does going green mean?
America went through and is still going through an industrial revolution. It looks like we won, but it has some drawbacks. The industrial revolution led to great improvements in our lives, and it continues to do so. Disadvantages are the environmental impact of our country and the world. During our efforts to provide the world with as many modern convictions as possible along with finding ways to improve our lives with technology, we have not given enough weight to environmental and health concerns. In other words, we baked a cake but left the kitchen a mess. Now it’s time to clean up the kitchen we messed up. Being green is cleaning up our mess while improving our environment is a well.
How does that affect our lives?
Project green is the second industrial revolution. Almost everything we invent and mass-produce is scrutinized.
- We are looking for ways to improve these things, to make them more environmentally friendly and more efficient.
- We are becoming more conservative with our natural resources and the use of chemicals we use.
Our landfills are getting fuller and fuller because of garbage. Our air, rivers, lakes, and forests suffer from pollutants. In an effort to clean up the mess we made while baking our cake, we started new companies and improved products to get our kitchen not only cleaner but more efficient. Because of new technologies and new discoveries, we are creating new jobs for ourselves as well as our children. These jobs help sustain our economy as well as provide a healthier planet for our future generations.
Go Green: It’s the right thing to do
America going green is not only the right thing to do, but essential for our lives and the lives of future generations. It’s not just hype. This is not an ad campaign. The damage is readily apparent. Early in the morning or in the evening, see the skyline of the big cities. Instead of a beautiful blue skyline, you start seeing brown haze. More and more of us are developing allergies and becoming asthmatic. This can be reversed if everyone in America decides to go green. If you don’t do it for yourself, do it for future generations.
