How To Make Friends
1. Go Blind
How to blind date? Well you don’t have to kiss the person, especially if they have funky breath or something, you have to meet them. Someone you know will hook you up with a stranger. It’s almost like a little adventure. You can use social media to find someone. If things don’t go well, you won’t worry about it because you’re looking for a friend instead of a lover.
2. Are you
Going back to the cliché category, you should try to be yourself. I know I know I hate that phrase too. Everyone has heard it, and the first thing that pops into your head is, “well I tried that for 20 years and look where that got me!” Well think of it as a little different. Instead of being yourself, don’t be afraid to be yourself. Do the things you want to do. Do you want to go skydiving? Go do it, but give me your bank account information first if possible. If you like to read, go to the library or bookstore. There is a very good chance that people with similar interests will be found doing the things you want to do. If someone catches your eye introduce yourself, you can be separated! Don’t just ignore things.
3. Smile
It may seem like a no-brainer, but everyone around you feels more comfortable when someone is smiling. And did you know that people who smile are seen as more attractive, kind, and approachable than those with neutral expressions? So go ahead and show those pearls white, and if they’re not white, try Crest.
And those are some of the tips and tricks I have for making friends. I’m always looking for new ideas so check back often! Making friends is not easy, but everyone is looking for friends. So break up if you need to, don’t be afraid to be yourself, don’t be afraid to ask personal questions, and set some goals for yourself. And remember to smile!
4. Keep Trying
It’s easy to give up after a rejection, but don’t give up! Making friends is not easy, just like finding romantic interests. You pass them notes like in grade school, you send flowers, and you invite them to something you know they’ll like. You can also do these things for friends. Maybe not flowers, a card will do. It can be as easy as sending an email to a coworker asking if they want to go to lunch.
Remember to be yourself, ask questions that foster intimacy and never give up. Stay friendly with everyone!
